Because the team is, indeed, of consequence. You must not be paying attention old man.

No,no.....This has become a watered  down talk about less than stellar teams......A benign attempt to spread the wealth.....Three year undefeated  record with at least 1 MNC and a large margin of victory against quality opponents OOS...Teams with those credentials are what we should be talking...If not, be silent...

So you agree with me that La Marque shouldn't get included?

Too bad only I understand that we agree.

Would you two each just make a list of the teams you believe should be included?

Unless, that is too difficult.

If you like, you may even tier them for us to see. Some of us are intrigued to see your opinions 🏈

It's looking like a battle between (7) seven teams for the coveted Tier 1 spots (5 max)

Allen  2013-2015  (Kyler Murray years, 2013 Natty, 2014 undefeated, lost one in 2015)

Bishop Gorman  2014-2016  (Beat STA, Cen10, SJB,  and a host top OOS competition),

DBP  2009-2011   (Most Physical HS teams, Crushed DLS,  MV, def yielded less than 9 points/game ave.)

DLS  2000-2002 - MJD years 3 natties, beat MD Leinart; Beat #1 LBP in 2001, '02 and MD, beat St. Louis Hi.

Lakeland  2004-2006 (Three 15-0 seasons, beat STA 3 times and St. X in Ohio)

MD  2017-2019  (two Natties, beat DLS, SJB, IMG, SFA, SJC)

STA  2008-2010  (record 11 dudes on 2009 team played in NFL, won Natties in 2008 and 2010)

DBP  2009-2011   (Most Physical HS teams, Beat MV,

DLS  2000-2002   (3 natties, beat Mater Dei Matt Leinart; Beat #1 LBP in 2001, and MD,

Lakeland  2004-2006 (Three 15-0 seasons, beat STA twice and St. X in Ohio)

MD  2017-2019  (two Natties, beat DLS, SJB, IMG, SFA, SJC)

STA  2008-2010  (record 11 dudes on 2009 team played in NFL, won Natties in 2008 and 2010)

No complaints except I think DLS 1999-01 is a better run.

Lakeland beat STA all three seasons, two of which were blowouts.

2004: 31-7, STA finsihed with -35 rushing yards

2005: 39-10

2006: 45-42 in 2OT, after holding 4th quarter leads of 21-0, 28-7 and 35-14 with about two minutes left in the game.

Teams without  MNC have to go, DLS had the weakest in State schedule and got beaten up but DBP and STA, overall SOS goes to DBP, who also beat a very good Prattville team in Alabama, in front of a very hostile bunch and MD....

The 1999-01 DLS teams didn't lose to anybody.

You know, if you're actually  interested in staying on topic.

If not then keep ranting, old yeller.

Weak schedule, no completion and excluding one -two teams and no real OOS....👎👎

Who beats them though? I don’t think there is anyone.

I don't think that should be the driving question for this discussion. The landscape has changed a lot in the last 10-12 years. There is even more consolidation of talent in a select few schools than there's ever been before. Teams are just more loaded now than they used to be. It's likely the top three or so of the Mater Dei and SJB teams of the past few years put a running clock on each of those DLS teams. But that doesn't mean those DLS teams didn't have a more distinguished three year run. The 2018 versions of Lakeland and STA were both stronger teams than the ones that played in 2004-2006, but that doesn't mean either belongs in this discussion. It was a different game then. The DLS streak, and especially the later years where they ventured out of the Bay area and played other powerhouses will probably remain as they greatest stretch for a program in H.S. history. And that should remain the case even if we concede that, head to head, those DLS teams would be no match for 2019 MD or SJB.

Eight Teams in the hunt for Powerful Tier 2 Status (5 max incl Tier 1 candidate drop downs)

Moeller 1976-'78

Parkview 2000-2002

South Lake Carrol 2004-2006

West Monroe 1996-'98

St. Joseph Pa 2018-'20

St. X  2005-'07

Evangel Christian 1997-'99

Central Bucks West PA 1997-'99

Without going back and looking on my own, can anyone explain why Allen's 2013-2015 run is supposedly better than SLC 2004-2006? Granted, I was paying closer attention from 2004-2006...

10 MNC’s swamp boy plus a Louisiana beat down. They can lose every OOS game until the end of time but they will always be 1-0 against the swamp.

You can ride that one win vs Louisiana to you drop if it eases your pain. It's cool.

Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, LA) Louisiana 5A District 1 5A 10-4 4-0 (1st) 8-1 59.1 39 122-50
WINS: #128 Rockhurst (Kansas City, MO) (20-19), #230 West Monroe (LA) (26-15), #696 Huntington (Shreveport, LA) (47-34), #696 Huntington (Shreveport, LA) (38-18), #736 Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, LA) (7-5), #882 Suwannee (Live Oak, FL) (45-0), #1105 Ruston (LA) (37-17), #2489 Woodlawn (Baton Rouge, LA) (49-14), #2607 Southwood (Shreveport, LA) (49-13), #5666 Natchitoches Central (Natchitoches, LA) (55-0), LOSSES: #5 De La Salle (Concord, CA) (27-10), #33 Hoover (AL) (21-14), #60 Hahnville (Boutte, LA) (41-35), #198 Longview (TX) (43-26)

Sooner or later you will have to get in the real world with the rest of us....take your time.

Just be glad DLS has never played a schedule like Evangel in 2003. We've seen DLS's recent results.

Later, dude.

I just did a quick scan on Maxpreps. I'm totally unconvinced the Allen run was better than SLC's. Kyler Murray being a bigger name than SLC's QBs is meaningless here IMO.

At this point, no one is saying that Allen's run was better than SLC.   The potential Tier 1 and Tier 2 listings were to generate discussion, and your input is valid.

We (Rummel) should have taken out Evangel 2nd Rd of the playoffs that year.....oh well, we lost 7-5. 😀

So your trying to show me how bad Louisiana’s top teams are to justify the loss. Good Job👍

DLS is 2-8 vs Tier 1 (those teams) since 2004.

Ugly looking.

0-2 STA

0-2 don bosco

0-1 Lakeland

0-2 Mater Dei

2-1 Bishop Gorman (the Bishop crushed DLS for their win)
