This reminds of when Bormio thought Trump could come close to splitting the youth vote because he didn't understand how to contextualize favorability data. 👇 On 5/4/2020 at 8:37 PM, Bormio said: Survey from Harvard Kennedy school of government shows Biden’s favorable/unfavorable at 34/47 among voters 18-29. More young voters have a very favorable view of Trump than Biden. Combine that with softness with Latinos and maybe even some Sanders voters and tell me how Biden wins. He needs more than African Americans and women. If Trump comes even close to splitting the youth vote ... I just don’t think Biden can overcome that. Registered voter polls are very capable of being misleading. It is about who actually votes. On 5/5/2020 at 11:20 AM, The Guru said: In July 2016, Hillary Clinton's favorable rating among 18-29s was 31% Hillary Clinton's Continuing Youth Problem She got 55% of the 18-29 vote and beat Trump by 19 points in that age group. Atticus Finch
This is how the story ends. Biden then won the 18-29 vote by 24 points (60% to 36%). (womp, woooomp)

concha
A study out of Finland has found that people who believe in “woke” ideas of social justice are more likely to be anxious, miserable, and depressed. The study, entitled “Construction and validation of a scale for assessing critical social justice attitudes,” was carried out by Oskari Lahtinen, a senior researcher at the INVEST Research Flagship Centre at the University of Turku. It sought to establish the prevalence of the “woke” worldview and the kinds of people who hold it. PsyPost, a publication that focuses on psychological developments, reported on its findings: An intriguing aspect of the study was its exploration of the relationship between critical social justice and mental well-being. Lahtinen found a correlation between higher agreement with critical social justice attitudes and increased reports of anxiety and depression. Agreement with the statement “If white people have on average a higher income than black people, it is because of racism” exhibited the largest positive correlation with anxiety and depression, and the largest negative correlation with happiness. However, these associations were more strongly correlated with participants’ political orientation than with critical social justice attitudes per se. Specifically, being on the political left was more predictive of lower mental well-being than high critical social justice scores alone. This suggests that the link between critical social justice attitudes and mental health is complex and may be mediated by broader political and ideological beliefs. Lahtinen, meanwhile, explained his methodology and the reason why he undertook the research: The arrival of a critical social justice (often called ‘woke’) discourse sparked much debate in Finnish media in the last couple of years.” This debate was largely data-free and it could thus be considered a worthwhile question to study how prevalent these attitudes are. No reliable and valid instrument existed prior to the study to assess the extent and prevalence of these attitudes in different populations, so I set out to develop one. … The studies were quite robust with a sample size above 5,000 and good psychometric properties. However, the scale would need to be validated in North American samples in order to know how these attitudes manifest there. I encourage colleagues in the United States to study the prevalence of these attitudes in the country where they originate from.” The study adds to the growing body of evidence that left-wing progressives live unhappier lives. A 2021 study from the University of Chicago found that just one in six Democratic voters described themselves as “very happy,” while one in three Republicans felt the same way. DBP66
Looks like he needs to start selling more sneakers!!....🙄 Trump has failed to get appeal bond for $454 million civil fraud judgment, lawyers say Luc Cohen Mon, March 18, 2024 at 10:55 AM EDT·2 min read 731 FILE PHOTO: Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump holds rally in Richmond By Luc Cohen NEW YORK (Reuters) -Donald Trump has so far been unable to obtain a bond that would allow him to appeal a $454 million judgment against the former U.S. president in a New York civil fraud case without posting the full amount himself, his lawyers said on Monday. Trump must either find the cash or post a bond to prevent the state's authorities from seizing his properties while he appeals Justice Arthur Engoron's Feb. 16 decision ordering him and co-defendants to pay $464 million in penalties and interest for misstating property values to dupe lenders and insurers. In a court filing on Monday, the Republican presidential candidate's lawyers urged a mid-level state appeals court to delay enforcement of the judgment, arguing the amount was excessive. They said the defendants had so far approached 30 surety companies through four separate brokers to obtain a bond. "Enforcing an impossible bond requirement as a condition of appeal would inflict manifest irreparable injury on Defendants," Trump's lawyers wrote. The lawyers asked that he instead be allowed to post a $100 million bond while he appeals the judgment. A bonding company would be on the hook for any payout if Trump loses his appeal and proves unable to pay. Trump's lawyers included a statement by Gary Giulietti, an executive with insurance brokerage the Lockton Companies, which Trump has hired to help get a bond. Giulietti wrote that a bond for the full $464 million "is not possible under the circumstances presented," noting that many sureties would not issue bonds above $100 million and were willing to accept only cash or securities - not real estate - as collateral. Trump denied wrongdoing in the case, which was brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James in New York state court in Manhattan. Trump earlier this month posted a $91.6 million bond to cover an $83.3 million defamation verdict for the writer E. Jean Carroll while he appeals, in a case that arose from his branding her a liar after she accused him of raping her decades ago.

This is classic. You will never find anybody who is as miserable as you. You are so triggered by 'woke' you have to try and make other people as miserable as you are. Pathetic is a good word to describe you when you do this.
