Are you saying that JSerra would be closer in ability to DLS rather than OLU?

That’s a good question. Probably not. I’d likely have DLS in a tier 2. All I know is that according to my eyeball test, JSerra looks like a better team than OLu after two games. I don’t like to base my rankings on daisy chains. I judge simply by what I see teams do on the field.

Tier 2 - Hoover, Cardinal Gibbons, Lake Travis, St. Louis,  Colquitt County, Grayson, North Gwinett, Miami Central, Allen

Tier 3 - Colerain, Bishop Gorman, ULab, Arch Bishop Hoban, Katy, Rome, Warren Central, Good Council,  Mentor, Duncanville (TX), DLS, Cen10, Pickerington Central, Carol City (fla)

Tier 4 - Converse Judson Tx, , North Shore (Tx),   ,  Bergen Catholic, St. X, Miami Northwestern,   Mission Viejo, St. X , OLU, SPP, JSerra, Trinity*, Lincoln Way East (IL),

Tier 5 - Serra (Gardena), Jokes Christian, SJR, SJP, Aledo, Buford, ST. Eds,  Upland, Blessed Trinity (Ga), Muskegon (Mi),   East (St. Louis),  Bishop Dunne (Tx), , Archer, American Heritage (Fl), Saguaro, Santa Margarita,  Columbia (FL),  Loyola Academy (IL), Dematha, Walton, Archer, Marietta, Iggy

Tier 6 - Pittsburg,  Servite, DBP,   Gonzaga, John Curtis, Arch Bishop Rummel, Lowndes, Chandler, Phllips (IL)

*teams will not be considered to be in a Tier until they score a point ( if they have played a game).

Below is an explanation of the Methodolgy used to place the teams on various Tiers.  The Tier concept recognizes that W/L records are a function of quality of opponent, and as such, RELEVANCY of opponent MUST be factored in.  The Tiers recognizes that in some cases, a 10-0 team (ranked in Top 100 by some outlets) could get blown off the field by a 5-5 (unranked) team that played a tougher schedule.  This is why the Tiers was created.

*Not attempting to rank every team, only the ones we discuss on this site.

*Tier placements consider a teams entire body of work, however are weighted heaviest on recent games and game weights decrease in significance in reverse order.  In other words, early road OOS losses to relevant teams can be overcome as the season progresses.

*Teams placed on the same Tier can compete with other same Tier teams and possibly win 2+ of 10.

*Basically there is a -10 point drop between tiers.  Could vary from 7 to 21 depending on the styles of teams playing.  This does not necessarily mean that there is a 30 point difference between Tier 1 and Tier 3, only that the chances of a Tier 3 team beating a Tier 1 team are exponentially less than the chances of a Tier 2 Team beating a Tier 1 team6

*The Tiers will ultimately be made up of (16) teams per Tier that would form competitive playoff brackets.

*Texas teams generally have not played enough OOS games to gauge properly #crapshoot.  There must be a daisy chain OOS connection for a reference point.  Teams with no OOS daisy chain connection may not be placed on a Tier.  (Texas exempt)

*Tiers are based on exhaustive research, Multiple games watched, and good gut feelings.

*This is a crowd sourced rating. All input will be considered and adjustments will be made as appropriate

North Gwinnett is so good that the jv team made tier 4 and the varsity made tier 2.

I'd disagree about Dela being in Tier 2. They have to prove themselves before  justifying  that. I do agree with JSerra. That is a good team, and will most likely end up being 3rd best team in Trinity this season. Jserra a real good team.

I am still considering their placement.   Any suggestions.

youve already sacrificed DLS to tier 3 to deminstartate that you’re really not CA biased (because you’re really socal/ trinity biased)

They’re same tier as DLS, which is probably two, but three isn’t egregious at this point  (they still could easily get beat by 10+ to a team that just lost 42-0)

So should the bishop remain in tier two, or are you going to make a tier 0 for MD? A 42 point drumming that wasn’t even competitive should rate the Bishop in 3 and possibly even 4 until they can prove otherwise

furthermore, the Bishop hasn’t scored a point yet, should they even Be included?

True...

You have to be able to pay $75,000 a year to be on their B team.

That's probably why the B team sucks. It's made up of a bunch of spoiled rich kids who's daddy wants to brag and act their kid is actually good because he pays $75,000 a year. Little does Daddy know, he is paying for the actual good players playing on the A team. Lol

True statement.

I’m good with that, they have earned their place on the national scene unlike other teams that got shutout in the maiden game
