Hey Belly Bob.....Colquitt got lucky Saturday night.

But thanks to our band...and cheerleaders...we were able to slip past them Catholics from St. Louis.  It was downright tense....until the opening kickoff.

Those poor undersized hogs did real good.

Sammy,

Only 2 teams from IL deserve to be considered this early in the season........LWE and Loyola should be Tier 5.

I have LWE in Tier 4 currently.  They have a good team, and had a solid (if unspectacular) week 1 win under their belt.  I have Loyola in Tier 5.  Phillips is at risk for being dumped based on the National TV showing today.

*Not all Tier 6 teams are listed.  Only the teams with supporters on this forum.  If you have a personal interest in a team (your team) and want to see what level they would compete in, please ask.

Seriously - Folsom would beat Servite by as many points as they wanted to.  Take your head out of Disneyland.

The concept is that there is clear separation between high school football teams that are not apparent looking only at W-L records.

For Example.  DJ would rank a 10-0 team (not naming names)  in his Top 100, and not a 5-5 team  which is actually the better team, but played a much tougher schedule.

The Tiers will sort all of that out for the casual viewer.

St. Louis has a legendary coach, and has been a national powerhouse program for a long time.  They gave one of DLS better teams, all they could handle in the early 2000's.  They also gave my team (St. Paul) who was a national powerhouse then, all they could handle too.

Hawaii football is legit, and there are pleny of Samoans on those lines.  There offense is run and gun and fun to watch.

None of this has anything to do with how good they are in 2018.

Except Samoans.

I guess after reading through here... Cal Preps is concentrating efforts for readership in Moultrie as well.

Seems a lot like they suddenly are moving Colquitt up into the top 15 now. At this rate, by the time Colquitt beats Grayson, they could be top 5.

Sammy's Tiers and Cal Preps... The New and Improved USAT polls that cater to their readership!

You heard it here first. xD

People on pins and needles waiting to see where the devil gets placed.   The devil needs to bring their "A" game next week.  The East German judges (we outsourced the ranking overseas) are BRUTAL

I would drop them to tier 3.

Tier 4 - Converse Judson Tx, , Katy,  Mission Viejo, OLU,   Lincoln Way East (IL), Dematha,   SJP, JSerra, Cardinal Gibbons, American Heritage Plantation, Jokes Christian, Marietta, St. IGGY, St. Edwards, Trinity*  Warren Central, Gonzaga

Tier 5 -   SJR,  Aledo, Buford,   Upland, Blessed Trinity (Ga), Muskegon (Mi), East (SLC),  Columbia (FL),  Loyola Academy (IL), Walton,  Chandler,  Miami Northwestern,   Lee County, Good Council, North Gwinett, SPP, Gonzaga,  Servite, Phillips (IL), Duncanville (Tx)

Tier 6 - DBP,  John Curtis, Arch Bishop Rummel, Lowndes, Santa Margarita, Cajon Ca,   Serra Gardena, Liberty NV, Saguaro

*teams will not be considered to be in a Tier until they score a point ( if they have played a game).

Below is an explanation of the Methodolgy used to place the teams on various Tiers.  The Tier concept recognizes that W/L records are a function of quality of opponent, and as such, RELEVANCY of opponent MUST be factored in.  The Tiers recognizes that in some cases, a 10-0 team (ranked in Top 100 by some outlets) could get blown off the field by a 5-5 (unranked) team that played a tougher schedule.  This is why the Tiers was created.

*Not attempting to rank every team, only the ones we discuss on this site.

* The Tiers are fluid and subject to extreme fluctuations early in the year, leveling out as the year progresses.

*Tier placements consider a teams entire body of work, however are weighted heaviest on recent games and game weights decrease in significance in reverse order.  In other words, early road OOS losses to relevant teams can be overcome as the season progresses.

*Teams placed on the same Tier can compete with other same Tier teams and possibly win 2+ of 10.

*Basically there is a -10 point drop between tiers.  Could vary from 7 to 21 depending on the styles of teams playing.  This does not necessarily mean that there is a 30 point difference between Tier 1 and Tier 3, only that the chances of a Tier 3 team beating a Tier 1 team are exponentially less than the chances of a Tier 2 Team beating a Tier 1 team.

*The Tiers will ultimately be made up of (16) teams per Tier that would form competitive playoff brackets.

*Texas teams generally have not played enough OOS games to gauge properly #crapshoot.  There must be a daisy chain OOS connection for a reference point.  Teams with no OOS daisy chain connection may not be placed on a Tier.  (Texas exempt)

*Tiers are based on exhaustive research, Multiple games watched, and good gut feelings.

*This is a crowd sourced rating. All input will be considered and adjustments will be made as appropriate

DLS is too high at this point in the season.

Their offense is coming along -- better throws and routes last night than in the previous two weeks, fewer missed blocks, better downhill running from the backs.

But 2 still seems too high, given they've got a young QB, young running RBs, young receivers, and a new O-line.

I would put them in Tier 3 for now, given where you've got Folsom, Cen10, and OLu.

Tier 3 Milton beat your Tier 2 Cardinal Gibbons 42-17

What does Lee Co. gotta do to get some tier love... beat the defending FL 8A Champs 35-3? Check.

Beat the GA 3A Runner Ups 33-0... ? Yeeah.

Lee Co. is pretty darn good.

I dont think theyve given up over 100 total yards yet through 3 games combined.
