I think we've met...

----

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know St. Peter won't call my name

Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world

That's heavy, man.

And it's true, for those who are of the world: they all lose finally.

But some of us are not of the world.

It's like what Billy Joe Shaver used to say:

    I'm gonna live forever.

    I'm gonna cross that river.

    I'm gonna catch tomorrow now.

You're either Death or Dracula...

If it's Dracula then I got a steak with your name on it foul creature of the night...

I don't know why, but this reminds of something that Jalen Rose used to say.

Something like:

Only Father Time and girls are undefeated.

And when asked who would win, Father Time or girls, he answered girls.

I liked that.

Look at that Hairy Hawg!

Idk why, but I picture "Bad to Da Bone" blaring in the background while you were snapping selfies today.

😁

Ms. Violet asked me what I was doing cause I RARELY take photos (much less selfies).  I told her I was letting the gurus on the National Board know I was....READY TO PLAY !!!!!

(Smile)

I have you both beat.

I was at the Royal Society in London on February 1, 1673, when Leibniz unveiled his calculating machine.

Sometimes you had to shake it a bit, but it could perform all 4 arithmetic operations mechanically.

We've come a long way, haven't we?

I got the recipe for Dirt. Now top that. If you don't Believe me ask Adam. 😁

You, just might be an old redneck

😁

I saw Roy Clark at both the Silver Dollar in Georgetown and the Crossroads in Bladensburg, MD a long, long time ago.  Roy Buchanan, too, but that is another story.

There was a lots of silliness to be sure but there was some really good music on that show as well. Buck Owens and Roy Clark could flat play those strings and they had a ton of country talent on as well.
