He was an assistant coach at Henderson from 2009-2016, where the Lions won a state title in 2010; he served as their defensive coordinator from 2014-2016. Strickland, who was an assistant coach on Carthage's 2008 state title team, replaces Triston Abron, DCTF's Visit Fort Worth Coach of the Year who led Pewitt to the 3A Division II state finals in 2019. He took the head coaching job at Mexia. In his last two seasons as DC at Nashville, his teams went a combined 21-5 and made consecutive state quarterfinals appearances. His best season was a 12-3 mark in 2013 when the Jaguars advanced to the state semifinals. San Antonio MacArthur Brahmas 6A Kevin Hirst Ben Cook 1-9 Notes: Cook, who was placed on administrative leave after an arrest in October will not return to MacArthur for 2020. He was the HC at MacArthur for nine seasons posting a 29-64 record, with his best year being a 6-5 mark in 2015. NEISD promotes interim HC Hirst on January 13, Hirst served as head coach the final five games of 2019. San Antonio Warren Warriors 6A Josh Littrell Jeff Robbins 6-4 Notes: Robbins, who was placed on administrative leave in late October will not return for a third season at Warren. Warren hires Waldorf University HC Josh Littrell who served as the OC at San Antonio Warren from 2007-2013. Tyler Lee Raiders 6A Joe Willis Kurt Traylor 6-5 Notes: Traylor departs after three seasons to join to the staff at UTSA where his brother is the new head coach. He posted a 14-17 mark and led Lee to the playoffs in 2019. Tyler ISD names Colleyville Heritage HC Joe Willis their next HFC on January 30. Willis led Cedar Park to a state title in 2012 and the state title game in 2014. Wylie Pirates 6A Jimmy Carter Bill Howard 6-5 Notes: Howard, who spent 14 years as head coach at Wylie and was a long time assistant at Wylie announced his retirement on February 14. Cleveland Indians 5A Division I Jason Fiacco Norris Taff 0-10 Notes: Cleveland, who has lost 23 straight games will be on their third head coach in three seasons as Taff is out after one season. Cleveland ISD names Elkhart head coach Jason Fiacco head coach on January 9. Colleyville Heritage Panthers 5A Division I Kirk Martin Joe Willis 9-5 Notes: Willis departs Colleyville Heritage after five seasons and a 40-22 record to take over at 6A Tyler Lee. Kirk Martin, who has spent the past two years on staff at Syracuse returns to Texas to take over, he led Manvel to two state title appearances and holds a 114-39 overall head coaching record. Corpus Christi King Mustangs 5A Division I Doug Foster Eddie Hesseltine 2-8 Notes: Hesseltine, after eleven seasons departs King to take an administrative position in Sinton ISD; he spent 14 seasons as a HC at Three Rivers and King posting a 74-73 overall mark. His best seasons at King were 2015 and 2016 where he went 9-2 and 7-5. CCISD hires Richmond Foster HC and former Poteet HC Doug Foster on March 25. Donna Redskins 5A Division I Open Position Ramiro Leal 3-7 Notes: Leal will not return for an eighth season at Donna, he posted a 37-35 mark in seven years leading the Redskins. San Antonio Southwest Dragons 5A Division I Alejandro Franco Matt Elliott 6-6 Notes: Elliott retires after the end of the 2019 season, he had two separate stints at Southwest, he posted a 33-15 mark in four seasons in that second stint.
