They are far from unbeatable. CC is typically more of an elite team but Folsom has had multiple teams the past 10 years that could have competed well and possibly beaten them. 2009, 2010, 2014, 2017, 2018. Probably a few others could have done well too but those 5 stand out.

We’ve debated but ‘12 and ‘13 were pretty good teams also 

those were very good DLS teams that matched up horribly for Folsom (and also best CC by 20)

obviously not as good as ‘14 who were pretty much the same kids 

 

I think a Decade Top 5 for CA would look like

DLS

CC

SJB

Folsom

MD

obviously depends how you weight things as MD has had the two best teams imho but they just showed up on the stage in ‘16

CC has been there over a decade 

SJB came on in ‘13

To your point, Folsom has had this sort of team for a decade now but just didn’t hit the highs of SJB or MD (but more than CC)

It’s really hard, if not impossible to have an accurate list given all the noise, especially with respect to title games outside of the open title game over the past 5 years.  

Lets consider two teams that aren’t bantered about all that much.  Last year Liberty, arguably the third best team from NorCal scratches out a D1A title win versus a 3 loss Sierra Canyon squad that nearly lost to a pretty mediocre (in the grand scheme of things) Upland team.  Sure, in the books Liberty has a title but really, against D3 Sierra Canyon?   Situations like that make comparisons very difficult.

Since Folsom Has only Played 1 Top 5 team and is 0-3 and not competitive, they are not a Top 5 Team....

SJB has done enough to be Top 5 Based in 2 Open Wins...

Or MV, which would have as many Lower Level Bowl wins as Folsom if they had the “Folsom Rule” I’m So Cal And they could slide into that game every year instead of having to play win or go home games against 3 of the Top 5....

Until Folsom beats a Top 5 Team on the field, they are in the top 10 to 15 conversation with San Diego and the Lower Level Teams...

DLS was playing with a QB in his first start.Play that game at the end of the year and I don’t think any believes that game is close

I also don’t see Folsom turning the ball over 5 times in DLS territory. Hale looked pretty good in that game. It’s not like the game was close because of his play. It was close because the teams were evenly matched for once.

Folsom is Top 10-15 with all of the other D1-AA Teams... The Top 10 is reserved for teams who compete to get to the open...

Not Teams that are scared of top Competition and Invoke “The Folsom Rule”...

The Folsom Philosophy “Rule”....”We can’t beat DLS so we Concede The Open Bowl Bid”....”For Goodness sakes we can barley beat San Diego with a recruited up, stacked team the last 2 years, so we don’t see what all the fuss is about”....

 “Also, We are totally afraid to play Top Competition in CA (Especially PITT, MV, And The Real CC) because we would rather run up the score on teams we can beat rather then play any of CA Top 5 Teams that can actually beat us on the field...

“Except of course for our No Lose game against DLS, That makes us look like we actually care, We Love That Deal!!!.”.... 

This argument gets easier year after year as “Antelope” appears on Folsom’s Schedule instead of “The Real CC” During Folsom’s “Great 8 Year Body of Work as a Top 5 CA Team”...🤣🤣

108-38, 0-3 vs DLS, And 0 wins and 1 Voluntarily scheduled game (Shutout Loss) against CA Top 5 Teams during “Folsom’s 8 year Streak”....  A complete Embarrassment to Nor Cal Football...

A “Real #2 Team” in Nor Cal would travel to “The Real CC” in Back to Back years and try to beat them and gain respect for Nor Cal, rather then hide in the lower division’s beating up on “Antelope” With their out of state D1 recruits....

That is the 8 Year Reality of Folsom... That is all you have to read...🙂

Context from the Grant game.  They were depleted and were the walking wounded.  When they were healthy earlier in the year they smoked Folsom.  However, the Serra game, y'all earned that one.  Serra was stacked.
