Serious question- Why don't Texas teams travel outside of Texas to play other teams?

Texas teams have been to IL, WA, KS, FL, LA, OK, NM, AR, MS, GA, and hell Jesuit even traveled to Ireland a few years back and aTexas Private have been to Cali recently.  Where do you want them to travel to Mars 🤣
The Texas 6 Man Schools with less than 100 kids will play in front of a crowd  similar to the DLS and SJB which I heard was around 5K.  We do HS football like no other.  Over 275K People will watch 4 days of Football at the Death Star.  At least one of the 5A or 6A Championship games will be ranked 6th or 7th among the ATTENDANCE OF ALL THE COLLEGE BOWL GAMES

Crowds for UIL's 6A state title games dwarfed those of many college bowl games

To see how insanely popular Texas high school football is -- and how little interest there was in some college bowl games -- check out these numbers.

The UIL Class 6A Division II state championship game between two out-of-town teams -- Longview and Beaumont West Brook -- had an announced attendance of 48,421 on Dec. 22 at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington. That game, won 35-34 by Longview, drew a larger crowd than 28 of the 39 FBS college bowl games that were played.

That's 71.8 percent.

The matchup of two nationally ranked teams -- Duncanville and Galena Park North Shore -- drew a crowd of 42,363 on Dec. 22 at AT&T Stadium. That game -- which North Shore won 41-36 on a 45-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass on the final play -- outdrew 25 of the 39 college bowl games.

So 6-man doesn't play defense either.

Check.

Can we do the Texas sucks rant in the other thread and let this one be about the championship games? It’s literally our final game threads of the season

No.

I was alluded to first by the same people who now want me to go away.

If these goofballs would stop telling us that shit football is great and unique then nobody would bother to set them straight.

DAVE CAMPBELL’s GAME PREVIEW

It’s battle of two teams with very different state championship pedigrees.

Favored Refugio is back at AT&T Stadium playing for a state title for the fourth time in five seasons, while Post is making its first appearance.

Post, a team picked to finish third or fourth in its district by many outlets, has put together a magical season. The Antelopes eased into the state championship game with a convincing 35-7 win over Valley View in the state semifinals. In key moments in the red zone last week, Post’s versatile offense came through. Taytem Thetford tossed a touchdown pass on a 4th-and-two to put Post in the lead for good at 14-7 in the second quarter. He hauled in a 15-yard touchdown pass from Slayden Pittman in the third quarter to all put the game away at 28-7. Pittman had a monster game for PHS running for three touchdowns and throwing another. Post’s defense made up for a less-than-stellar outing in the regional finals by shutting down Valley View’s offense.

Refugio got pushed in the semifinals last week, but the Bobcats emerged from a slugfest with a 29-21 win over San Augustine, their second win over the Wolves in three seasons. Leading by eight with 8:38 left, Refugio’s offense grinded out the remainder of the game behind the tough running of Ysidro Mascorro, who ran for 160 yards and a touchdown. QB Austin Ochoa, whose health was a bit of a question coming into the game after getting banged up in the regional final victory over Holland, ran for two touchdowns and showed no signs of being less than 100 percent.

The Bobcats have the experience in these big games. They have the size to match Post in the trenches and they have an edge with speed on the outside. Post keeps it close, but Refugio pulls away in the second half to earn another state title.

Stepp’s Pick: Refugio by 13
