Might cancelled seasons result in an exodus to "academies"?

The "academy" schools that play one another may be able to continue with their games, even if state associations cancel their seasons. Might we see kids and even coaches jumping ship in the instance of cancelled seasons to join one of the academy teams? If something like this happens, might much of it signal a more permanent trend which continues even if/when vaccines have been made available?

Seems like a very real possibility. This only makes strong teams stronger, eliminating the chance for public schools to reassert their dominance in future years. I would not like to see how this plays out.

There's been a trend in football, creeping towards what we see in other sports like basketball. Sadly, this could push us much closer, and quickly. We'll have to see how such academies respond should we see a lot of cancellations.

Yeah, it's just not fair to everyone else for privates to stay open and poach other publics' players, while publics' themselves are abiding by rules and staying closed. It would lead to a dangerous set of developments that strongly oppose public programs.

Schools will most likely do online classes if things get that bad and allow athletes and band members to come to school just for practice and competitions. Ive seen where they are thinking of doing 50/50 kids go every other day and have classes online. It'll prepare kids for college.

The Ohio Department of Education will require any students or staff who travel out of state to self-quarantine at home for 14 days.  This wipes out 8 of Bishop Sycamore's 12 games.  They still have 4 home games though.  Where is their home field again?  Oh wait, they're building it now.  Or no, Ohio State University will let them use their facilities.

The following privates are indeed benefiting from the Kung Flu:

Trinity Christian (Cedar Hill, TX)

What about USA? Are they benefiting?

I hope not. Or if it does, I hope it does not work out for the Academies. There is something to the local public school, or even the local private school that I find central to high school sports. If we lose that, my days of being a fan will be in the rear view mirror.

Well fine sir, you see, I thought we were attempting to foster an "all are welcome" type community here, but, with racist commentary like the term "kung flu" and all other manner of fuckery coming on the hsfb side of prepgridiron.com, rather than fucking ban the apparent racist idiot, I chose to point at the dumb ass and laugh. Seems several people on here think they are slick with their garbage because they're allowed it on the OT section, then they forget where they are and they bring it to the football page.

Thanks for playing. Take your political garbage to the OT section. My post wasn't meant for discussion. It was meant as a definition to the term that the racist idiot used Ok?

Seems like everyone else got it. Hit dogs holler though.

Thanks for playing.

It's not bad enough that Americans in general have to deal with the stupid pandemic, but, then, we have to deal with racist and political garbage on the top of that. On a football board no less.

People on here know better. Especially the people that are being guilty of it. It's not their first day on this board and they know full well about the OT section and what it's there for. That crap back there is so toxic that a good few reasonable folks dare not to even go back there. We won't be letting that toxic garbage infect this side as we hope and pray for a football season with some states actually working toward having one.
