How the F… can the Mens USA team lose to France in Basketball!! WTF!!!

Because the NBA doesn’t play real basketball anymore.  This is not some “C” getting waxed.  This is a legit “A-“ team and they are not all that good.

You are correct. The NBA is no longer what it was due to the talent level decreasing in the players. They simply don't have the skills, nor the mindframe to commit it.

The international game is not the NBA. You need to change the way you think and play on this stage.

So Simone Biles quits on her team because “she didn’t want to go on”, and the sports press (and others) are lauding her “courage”.  The insanity is so over the top it is comical.  She quit. Maybe she had a reason, but she quit - right after she had a bad routine.

Well…. Folks are getting “woke” I reckon and all that…. NBA players with one parent from another country are playing for that country coupled with something I’ve been saying for 20 years the international skill game is getting better and the international apparatus is better set up for developing players.

These Olympic teams have had more practice time and chemistry mesh outside of the USA team, we’re arrogant monetary driven system relying on talent and skill. When we were so far ahead in the past and are slow to evolve to stay ahead of it.

Pretty fucking simple…..

This is true.  The international players in the NBA are felt to bring certain skills to the game the US players lack. The US team is virtually all NBA all-stars or that caliber.  The international players are not quite at that level.  On paper, one would think the US would dominate - but they are not.

We still have a good talent base, but we need a grassroots overhaul effort (maybe). The NBA thing was good for a while but I believe we could’ve remained amateur and been competitive, not dominant but in the mix for medaling.

France has the 3-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year as their rim protector.

So if the US couldn't make their jump shots, (and they couldn't) then they were going to struggle.

It's pretty simple.

1992 - Dream Team dominated

1996 - Dream Team dominated (but slightly less so)

2000 - Lesser Dream Team won gold but didn't dominate

2004 - Bronze Medal

2008 - Redeem Team (players took it seriously again and dominated)

2012 - Remnants of Redeem Team still dominated (but slightly less so)

2016 - Won Gold Medal but struggled

The cycle is pretty clear.

Notice how the press blistered Osaka for her mental health issues when she did not want to talk to them as a result of her mental health.  Biles quits on her team because of mental health and she is lionized as a hero.  Bunch of shameless hypocrites.

What happened ?

Was she just scoring low or physically crash, or maybe both ?

Just an FYI but there is not much solace in the big L

when she is still the one representing our team....

Probably goes for all the teams...🤷‍♂️

PS: Wonder if that "national judging game" falls short in the "international judging game", when it comes to favorites etc....and I could see how that could mess with a "favorites" mind... 🤔

...or was that your point in comparison. 🤷‍♂️

BTW: Do you think Japan will get a big home field medal stack ?

Who did this?

I remember it being pretty much universally praised as well.

Yep.

TOKYO (AP) — “Masaka” — or, in English, “No way.” That’s how an incredulous Japan reacted Tuesday to the unexpectedly early loss of Naomi Osaka at the Tokyo Olympics, erasing her chances for gold.

And people quickly turned to an outpouring of sympathy.
