Split:

Desoto beats Creekside

CG destroys Heath

Not so fast my friend!!! Heath can put up points. And according to @Fred since Texas has 3 times the amount of football teams, that would put Cedar Grove as the 87th TX team which means that would put CG in the range Sachse was last year. Heath won 56-42.

Monarch FL finished 59th in Florida and put State Champ Cedar Grove on the ground 50-42

Heath is a Rockwall team.  That means they put all their eggs in one basket (offense).  The rest of the team (defense) suffer from this.  They will never win 6A-D2 with that approach.

Yes...Points will be scored.  But I'm pretty sure CG can get a few stops.  Only way Heath wins is if they score 70.

Note:  I forgot Heath was 6A-D1 last year.

I do believe the Cedar Grove HC is on his way to Georgia State with Dell McGee.  That could put a damper on CG's season. Adam's can coach...

CG won 2 titles with their coach and then he left for college. As soon as he left the beat went on and they won 2 more titles including last year. So the majority of the roster will be wearing State Championship rings to their pep rally. I’m sure they will be ok

I think Heath can roll with Cedar Grove.

Georgia has never seen offense like Rockwall offense ☺️

No...but I'm sure they've come close.

The state did produced Watson and Lawrence among others.

CG can just play ball control though.  Offense can't score from the bench.

All seriousness,

It’s a win if they can find a way to at least keep it respectable

Just, looking at their box score from last season; they got themselves into a lot of shootouts.

Now, if that’s something they normally do, then game on.

If not, I think major advantage Heath.

Trevor Lawrence,Deshaun Watson and Justin Fields...

Know what they all got in Common?

A slight Buford Wolf allergy

The matchup I was most looking forward to was north shore v Buford. Too bad it fell through

Im interested in seeing how Buford does this year...

They got a stiff schedule they open their season on the road @Milton...

Buford is 10-3 all time vs Milton...

They still got 1 opening left on their schedule

I went to that game in old Texas Stadium and Timberview was also a newer School. That was a good series the Ohio teams got trounced and I think the only time they traveled outside an adjoining State.  Texas went there before in the Herbstreit. It was their 5th year and had dropped from 5A.  That was a good win for Buford who pulled away in the last 9 mins.  They held RB Eric Steven's to 58yds.  That dude had over 1900yds the year before.  It was 28 - 21 Buford with 9mins left.

Kirk Herbstreit Varsity Football Series at Texas Stadium

Presented by Burger King

Saturday

Buford (Ga.), 42, Mansfield Timberview (Texas) 21

Cedar Hill (Texas) 38, La Salle Catholic (Cincinnati, Ohio) 14

Justin Northwest (Texas) 13, Woodland Hills (Pa.) 12

Arlington Bowie (Texas) 48, Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) 0

Monday

Euless Trinity (Texas) 28, John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) 12

Klein Oak (Texas) vs. Mandeville (La.), cancelled

Colleyville Heritage (Texas) 41, Clovis East (Calif.), 26
