What's up fellas.  Just posting the link to the live stream for the game.  Haven't been inactive on this site.  There just hasn't been anything to talk about on our end.  Just focused on taking care of business each week so we will get another shot at Bingham in the State 6A State Championship.

The actual link for the game against IMG will not be posted until Friday.  But this is the website you will go to, if you desire to watch the game:

Lancer, do you know if Utah is still on board for the Geico games? 2 losses gets teams in like Chandler last year

so even if East loses to IMG, If they upset Bingham in the finals I'm sure they will be invited.

As far as I know, nothing has change in regards to our High School Association stance towards the GEICO games.  Yeah, right now, our path to the State Championship will present it's set of challenges with potential games against American Fork (who played Servite earlier this year) and Lone Peak in the Semis.

What's the deal with Alta?  They used to be strong.

Alta is still one of the top tier programs in the State.  Not having quite the year they anticipated.  Their demise or struggles as a program began with the opening of Corner Canyon High School in the City of Draper in 2013, an area where their students were heavily drawn from. (Coincidentally currently, Corner Canyon is the #1 ranked 5A school in the State and playing a high level of football, as good as anyone in the State).  So with the opening of Corner Canyon, it reduced their enrollment, causing them to drop down a classification.  More importantly, their best players came from the City of Draper.

A couple of years ago, they hired Coach Alema Teo (founder of the All Poly Camp here in Utah).  He quickly assemble a solid coaching staff and began to recruit like crazy, pulling in a lot of Polynesians kids to Alta, a school which historically hasn't had many Polynesians in their program. The past couple of years, their offensive play has been among the best in the State.  Unfortunately, they haven't given the same priority to the defensive side of the ball which has hurt them against the top tier programs in the State.

Corner Canyon has a new Head Coach (Eric Kjar) this year.  He is the former HC of the Jordan Beetdiggers (the same Coach who took his team to Georgia / Valdosta and Ohio / Massillon ).  During his tenure at Jordan, year in and year out, Coach Kjar's offenses would always be among the best in the state.  On the other hand, their defensive play was horrid during those years. I would argue that if had a defense during those years, they would have been a legitimate threat to Bingham during their run of dominance. Needless to say, its not a coincidence, that in his first year, that they have been flat out dominant, particularly because their defensive play has matched what they are doing offensively. Sorry for the long rant....
