What is going on with gilmer?

I think once they lost to Paris their confidence died.  They looked explosive on offense up to that point.

They are only in a 5 team district and before the year started 3 of them were top 10.  Gilmer, L.E. and P.G.  now Pittsburg is really good.  Bad time to be slipping.  They been bad on defense for a few years bu the  offense was explosive the 1st two weeks they hit over 40 and beat a good Van and 3A Atlanta and then Paris beat them 27-21 and having Carthage and Newton in successive weeks did nothing for that confidence as both routed them.  2-4 last 6 games and 1-2 in district.  With L.E. to go.  They must win

North shore is big, fast and strong, especially in the trenches.  They have lots of playmakers and really have not used the big back all that much.  It will take a complete team playing with limited errors to beat them.

Watch out for Judson too, they look pretty good with again strength along their DL.

the playoffs will be very good this year for both divisions.

Gonna try to get out to see the Blonds this Friday.  Man I am glad I flew back in late.  Argyle destroyed Melissa at Home.  Carthage and Argyle will be a damn battle.  Argyle has played one of the toughest 4A schedules in the State along with L.E. except they beat everyone including L.E.

Argyle 45 Stephenville 35

Argyle 31 La Vega 29

Argyle 69 L.E. 13

Argyle 34 Paris 26

Argyle 58 Melissa 21 @ Melissa

Argyle is battle tested for sure.  4A will be fun again this year.

NO doubt.  They run that old Celina 10 - 1 defense and it's crazy that teams have a problem exploiting them. They have a huge O-line.  6A Huge and they are physical.  Whats cool at half time they bring out all 3 Jr. High teams and the Freshmen and JV and each are undefeated.

That's another great "program".  They develop their teams well over there.

5A will be fun too.  Watch out for shadow creek out of Houston.  They are the new school that opened down near manvel.  Very talented team and playing very well.  I was Impressed by the game I saw a few weeks back.

The Lobo is averaging 51 points a game in district.

Ruston would make the TX 6A playoffs if they played in that district this year. 😂

Ruston will finish the #2 team in the West Monroe district. The Bearcat will end the year 7-3 and get a decent seeding in the 5A playoffs. Probably a 10 seed or close......32 teams are seeded.

You bringing up Lousiana teams in a Texas thread is like some guys talking about how they banged hot chicks all over the world and you come up and say you kissed the fat girl down the street

Well calpreps dropped Allen several spots (4th in Texas) and I'm sure it is bc of East loss.

i don't know how you determine that when they led 52 -0 with 8 mins left and emptied the bench.  Allen could have dropped 70 on that team easily.  East Utah would catch hell from the top of 4A.  That is one slow ass football team.  But they are big with a lot of kids.

Calpreps dropped Allen in the rankings this morning bc East lost last night.  (East dropped in their rankings dragging Allen with them.  Unfortunately they were Allen's highest ranked team played)

I don’t agree with much of where they have teams  ranked.  I like that TAPPS is stepping up but come on, they aren’t top 30 in all of TX and argyle isn't top 10 either.

WOS is also undefeated in district.  Gilmer 4 -5 on the year lost up the road to Pittsburg last night. Likely no playoffs for them.

WOS will still be a threat in that division even on a down year.  I don’t see anyone in region 3 beating them.

Tamauzia Brown #8 for Newton has been out of the lineup for about 2 weeks.  Not sure the ailment, but honestly, they don’t need him till the 3rd round, and probably don’t need him to win state.  They can’t afford to lose Barlow though.

Newton has actually been playing a sophomore QB quite a bit.  They’ve been moving Foster around, using him in different positions.  Foster is a great kid, and a great leader, but maybe not the best QB on campus.   Newton has been good for 40 years, and gonna be really good again next year.

They were battling injuries to key players early on and played a really tough schedule.  But they haven’t been competitive, and don’t seem to have any fight in them.  Which is the most concerning!

Since the Traylor brothers left, they haven’t been the same, and IMO, won’t be.

Make a few staff changes and they will be fine.

That district is by far weaker than Allen’s district.  Most of those teams would suck in 4A much less 6A.  That is very bad example fly

It's not an example, statistically, Duncanville is the most dominant 6A team in DFW. (PPG, PAPG, MOV)

Both Duncanville and Allen played a piss poor schedule.  DV I can understand, Allen has no excuse.

Ive mentioned this before, I think the DFW area (region 1) is down (6A).  I'm high on GHA.  DV doesn't have the team depth to go toe to toe with Allen for 4 quarters unless they jump out on a good lead.  I never claimed Duncanville was better, only that they have the best 6A stats in DFW

looking at common opponents and h2h, there's not much difference between (Duncanville, Pearce and skyline) and (Allen, prosper and Plano.)
