Greg Toal ex players, CTE linked?

9 ex-athletes from a top N.J. school have died since 2014. Why?

Dillon Romain and T.J. Franzese. Kurt Schmitz, an offensive lineman on the team, is dead, too. In all, nine former Don Bosco athletes have died in the past five years, seven of whom played for the school's national powerhouse football program.

“It’s a lot of kids,” said Kevin Roche, the father of Brian Roche, a former Don Bosco football player who died in 2016. “The first thing any normal person would do is say, ‘What’s going on here? There’s something odd. This is atypical.’ And it is. And I can’t explain it.” “Our Don Bosco players played so hard trying to achieve something, but now I look back at it and say: At what cost?” Schmitz said. “What did we do to our boys? What did we cost them? We were all there cheering them on. And now, knowing, I’m like, ‘What did we do?’” Yvonne Schmitz said she donated his brain to the Concussion Legacy Foundation in Boston, where researchers made a horrifying discovery. White matter was on his brain, indicative of brain trauma, and a split was found in his cerebral membrane, Yvonne Schmitz said.

Studies keep showing up that CTE and football are almost undeniable, I love Greg Toal and the Ironmen but one can't be worried and asked if this is all linked? "Then a silver-colored Chevy Cobalt pulled up near one of the end zones. A man emerged and started approaching the nearest group of players, who were engaged in an exercise that seemed to me like a recipe for concussions. Goal-line tackle, they call it: two players square off, a few yards apart, and drive their heads and shoulders into one another, fighting for inches. “Run your feet!” the man shouted, and soon grabbed one of the players forcibly by the helmet, dragging him back to the goal line. “Again!” he commanded. “We’re going to get the girl out today.” This had to be Toal, I concluded. Heads collided, and, after a few more seconds of struggle, the players toppled. “O.K., we got half the girl out,” Toal said. “Now let’s see if we can get the other half out.” He ordered the same kid back to the line. “You’re going to stay here until you become a football player!” he shouted. “The only guy that’s going to help you is you. Again!”

The “play at all cost” culture and mentality that was promoted and pushed during that time was the main culprit in my opinion

No, crack-head, I’m mocking yet another one of your “client matchups” collapsing In a heap of fraud.   You’re a sleazy pimp and a con artist, nothing more.  IMG just bitch-slapped you and your scam-artist client, BS.  And the best part?  Everyone knows you got slapped down and revealed as a liar, a con artist, and a loser.  LOL — oh, that’s gotta hurt.

I know GSB and don't always agree with him....He doesn't do Drugs and you appear to be pissed off..That said, try talking to him with a better tone and you might be surprised, if not, you can move on and maybe you'll feel,better...Resentments, usually never result in a solution...

As somebody who has CTE, that shit ain’t no joke. You just pray that it never gets to the point of self harm or harming others.

Some days are better than others but it is a struggle to deal with. I’d honestly off myself if it got to that point.

Sad.

Yeah thats why Im curious about football and the methods of the "tough guys", was it worth it? Just curious, not blaming or guilting. Theres no way to know at the time and I know the intentions of DBP were not bad

In MMA and old Muy Thai places the toughest dudes where they don't helmets, pads, and knee pads in practice they NEVER go full contact, they always go light but in the real fights they go hard. I mean, they literally throw bones at each other hard as possible so nobody can call them "soft"...

Just wondering if slamming 300 pound bodies at each other at 100 mph everyday greg toal style really gives you that toughness or just CTE.

Can they even test for that? I thought only if you die they can test?

Hows your sensory towards sounds and lights?

man when my neighbors dogs bark non stop my brain starts spinning, it’s like their playing racket ball with my brain, even the working outside in the day , the sun kicks my ass my migraines start kicking, it can trigger like 3 day  long episodes I don’t want to talk, I just want to relax in dark room till I’m no longer in a shitty mode

You are correct. They can only test postmortem. I have seen four different neurologists including Dr. Ann McKee. a world renown CTE specialist, and have had countless tests done with every single physician saying the same thing. “I’d stake my reputation on you having cardio traumatic encephalopathy.” And Dr McKee told me she would like to see me once a year to take pics of and study my brain and situation.

It’s a sad situation and I feel bad for my wife and kids. They didn’t sign up for this. I have always said that I’d throw in the towel when I know it’s time. Coming to grips with your own mortality and knowing that the slope you’re sliding down is getting slicker and steeper is something I don’t wish on any of you.

Even mtp and 96! 😉

I don’t have a lot of those types of episodes. My wife, who has chronic migraines, has trouble with sound and light when a migraine is coming on. She takes Maxalt and also topomax as a preventative, but we don’t think it helps much.

About once a year I had to take her to the ER for a shots because the pain is too much.
