For one thing you shouldn’t rely on Calpreps’ predictions for who’s going to win( Maxpreps is the same). Calpreps got destroyed in our Pick’em contest against the knowledgeable posters we have here. Mt. Carmel was legit. Not saying Mt. Carmel would dominate Aledo, but they are good enough to beat them. It’s not such a shocker they would win. They are located on Chicago`s south side at 64th and Dante......one block in any direction and you are in the ghetto.They are tough blue collar Irish..Polish Afro-American and other assorted Eastern European kids......they play with a big chip on their shoulders...much like New jersey kids.They certainly wouldn`t be intimidated by playing Aledo....or any team from anywhere......if the opponent is better and wins ...so be it...but they will have the bruises to show for it.
