On2whls
Has anybody watched that unfortunate soul. Not exactly dream team material, more like matchbook law school. I wouldn’t even sit on the jury. He’s already been tried and convicted in the minds of many people, many who have shown violent tendencies and in the event of an acquittal, jurists and the defense would be targets of mob violence, the sort of which goes unpunished depending on the cause. If you watch the entire video of the arrest and follow the science, you can make a case for reasonable doubt. Lets give Floyd the benefit of the doubt and accept that when he was originally placed into the cruiser declaring he couldn’t breathe, he was being truthful. What would cause him to have shortness of breath. Likely not arrest anxiety as he was well experienced at that. What would have caused him to have 3.5 times the normal lethal level of Fentanyl metabolites for a person of his size. Did he mistakenly take too much? Not likely, his personal history shows he was an experienced and proficient drug user. Given his issues with drug use, finding Fentanyl on his person would have landed him some considerable jail time. So, it’s pretty likely that the white mass seen in his mouth on frame by frame video was in fact a packet of Fentanyl that he swallowed hoping it would pass through his system. Add to the scenario that someone with the level of Fentanyl he had in his system would have collapsed pretty quickly and wouldn’t have been cruising around with his buddy passing off counterfeit bills. The fact that he was high explains his erratic behavior and ill witted decision to force his way back out of the cruiser which at that particular moment, represented his safest space. He might even have been able to convince officers to get him medical attention. The arresting officers actions certainly didn’t help the situation but after swallowing the Fentanyl (if that’s what happened) he basically set himself up for cardiac arrest. It was a pretty tragic situation overall but why ignore the science to continue the tragedy? Chauvin will never work again and Floyd’s family is now on easy street. The question is, going forward, how do we prevent that sort of situation playing out without compromising public safety?
Ararar
More science : There are two carotid arteries, whose job it is to carry oxygen to the brain via the blood. These arteries run along each side of the neck. If they’re blocked, the brain won’t be able to get any oxygen. And without oxygen, the brain will shut down. OpenStax College, CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0, via Wikimedia Commons I know you’re not here for a biology lesson (nor am I qualified to give one). So that’s about as deep into the science as we’ll go. The important thing to know is that if you block both carotid arteries for long enough, it’s good night. Even the toughest guys will pass out – one of the reasons BJJ is such a great tool for smaller fighters to take on bigger, stronger opponents. It’s important to notice once someone has been choked out, as prolonged lack of oxygen to the brain can be extremely serious. However, if the choke is released and the arteries are opened again, there are generally no lasting effects.

Houdini put drugs in his mouth while handcuffed and being controlled by 4 cops. Idiotic thinking at best. Being pulled out of the car by the legs is a sure way of forcing your way out, isn't it? He had enough in him to kill 3 adults but not enough to kill one makes sense. Pretty scientific stuff. 1
Nolebull813
This is no different than running after a person with asthma and then he dies after running too hard and his lungs collapse. You didn’t murder him. You added to the condition that accelerated the chance of death. at worse Chauvin commited manslaughter. He was restraining a known convicted criminal and drug addict. Nothing in the video suggested he was trying to commit murder. When you are dealing with the most hardened criminal and drug addicts you may have to use extra strength and force. This is manslaughter at worst. Maybe 5 years and that’s more to caving to the mob. He really should be let off with filing duty in the mailroom.

Nolebull813
Hillary Clinton defended a known child rapist that she believed was guilty before she took the case. She took the case and badgered the little girl into thinking she made it all up. The man walked and years later Clinton admitted that she knew he was guilty but it was her job. And that’s not even in the top 10 worst things she ever did in her life. Point is everyone is entitled to representation. Nolebull813
If he is found guilty of murder than this is 1600’s witch hunt justice. Even a doctor concluded that he wasn’t murdered. He died of asphyxiation. Convicting him of murder would be the most blatant and gross negligence use of our justice system in quite some time. let the scumbags riot and destroy their own cities. every red county in the country should have their guns cocked and ready for some blue city piece of shit to come and do something stupid.
