RedZone
https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-powers-texas-oklahoma-inquire-about-joining-sec-in-potentially-massive-shakeup-per-report/ With College Football Playoff expansion on the horizon and the sport as a whole undergoing radical change, another round of conference realignment may be on the horizon. Texas and Oklahoma have reportedly "reached out" to the SEC about joining the league should the two Big 12 powerhouses choose to leave their home conference, according to Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle. Citing "a high-ranking college official with knowledge of the situation," the Chronicle reports that the SEC could announce the additions of the Longhorns and Sooners "within a couple of weeks." SEC commissioner Greg Sankey would not address the report while in attendance at 2021 SEC Media Days on Wednesday. "No comment on that speculation," he told CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd. Sankey later added: "We are only worried about the 2021 season. Somebody dropped a report from unnamed people."

Nolebull813
Texas A+M will be a hard “no” vote. They will need 11 of 14 votes for consideration

Idk Oklahoma has had the SEC's number when it mattered most... outside of Georgia. One thing I give the big 12 flack for is no defense.... But OU offense has always been Potent like Rattlesnake venom. Outside of Georgia and Alabama there's no other high powered Offense that you can even compare to Oklahoma in the SEC. As of now anyway.... I think Oklahoma in the SEC would throw a screw into some of yalls line of thinking.... And Texas with their money would eventually catch up.... TheMaximumHornetSting
A&M would vote against this because it would end their gimmick of being the sole SEC school in Texas....
TheMaximumHornetSting
If this happens though the Big 12 is done.... Which I don't think too many people would complain about anyway.... But the problem would be where would these teams go? ISU,KSU and Kansas could probably join the Big 10. OKST,TTU,Baylor and TCU-Pac-12?-This would make the Big 10 and Pac12 super killer basketball conferences
Atticus Finch
Usually in conference expansion when there's smoke there's fire. This is going to happen. I expect the other Big 12 members to start fleeing ASAP. West Virginia joins the ACC and Notre Dame football finally commits giving them 16 as well. The Big 10 swipes two more (Iowa State and Kansas?).
Columbiafan
Well if that happens with the upcoming playoff expansion it will ironically help the group of 5s as remember the playoff change on consideration was top 6 conference champions and 6 at large If big 12 falls apart it would leave 4 "power conferences" and 2 more at large conference bids which would likely go to one of group of 5 teams instead of big

Nolebull813
Only 2 SEC teams is all it’s gonna take to throw a wrench into the plans. A+M already is on record of saying no. Why wouldn’t Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss State, Kentucky all agree? They would have to back the Brinks truck up to make this happen

Geographically Big 10 and ACC would be reasonable options. Don't know why WVU joined the Big 12 anyway...

Obviously, they joined the Big 12 because it was a P5 conference and gave them a bigger payout than the old Big East.
