Block. This is an epic fail. Even for you, C'mon, man! This is the closest Folsom is going to get to #1xD

If anyone cares to see what the real order is, see below. And there's a nice write up on Liberty-Brentwood FYI.

NCP Preseason Football Top 20: 1-5

5. St. Francis, Mountain View (11-4)

The Lancers start 2018 as the slight favorite in the West Catholic Athletic League due to the return of highly coveted DE/OLB Joshua Pakola, running back Darrell Page, wide receiver/defensive back Maurice Wilmer and wide receiver/defensive back Evan Williams, who made numerous key plays in the state bowl win. St. Francis has home non-league games against Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks and De La Salle and plays five of its first seven games at home before ending on the road against Bellarmine and Serra in the final three weeks.

4. Liberty (11-2)

Liberty will start 2018 in the top five on the heels of a strong finish last year, which included the North Coast Section Division I title. The Lions are led by quarterback Jay Butterfield, who has a host of weapons in Tyerell Sturges-Cofer, Sione Vaki, Jordyn Turner and Peyton Borrelli. Defensively, watch for Nicholas Einess and Ethan Dumond. Top 20 teams McClymonds and Cardinal Newman join Gilroy, Vacaville and Rocklin in the non-league schedule. They host Freedom on September 28 and travel to Pittsburg on October 19 as part of the strong Bay Valley Athletic League.

3. Pittsburg (9-3)

Coming off one of the best seasons under head coach Vic Galli, the Pirates are in position for even more in 2018. They will have quarterback Trey Turner on the field after he missed his entire junior season in addition to Justin Boyd (at wide receiver after playing quarterback last year), Willie Harts, Premier Murphy, Darrion Bartley and incoming tight end transfer Koby Gross from San Ramon Valley. One of the nation’s best defensive tackles, Jacob Bandes, will lead a strong defense which includes Harts, De’jon Benton, Jack Lacy and Jaden Tauanu’u among others. There are no breaks in the non-league with Clayton Valley Charter, St. Mary’s-Stockton, Centennial, Serra and Vacaville on the docket.

2. Folsom (16-0)

The Bulldogs had historically good teams in 2010 and 2014. Will 2017 join those groups? It has the returning firepower especially on offense with quarterback Kaiden Bennett and wide receivers Joe Ngata, Elijhah Badger and Parker Clayton. They also return two offensive lineman and eight starters on defense. Lineman Tyler Hardeman, defensive back CJ Hutton and junior lineman Deshawn Lynch are some players to watch. The August 17 opener at De La Salle has the expected attention, but the Bulldogs will also play Jesuit, Antelope and travel to Chaminade before the Sierra Foothill League action. They end the year on the road against Grant and Del Oro.

1 .De La Salle (11-2)

De La Salle starts the season at No. 1 in NorCal again, but will have its biggest test to that claim on August 17 when it hosts No. 2 Folsom. The Spartans are primed with strong returners led by nationally ranked running back/linebacker Henry To’oto’o and tight end/defensive end Isaiah Foskey. They also bring back some good options at quarterback, running back/defensive back Shamar Garrett, defensive linemen Michael Puckett and Beaux Tagaloa, linebacker Jhasi Wilson and defensive back Taveis Marshall. De La Salle has two expected returners on the offensive line. After hosting the Bulldogs, De La Salle plays Central Catholic, Bishop O’Dowd, St. Francis, Bishop Gorman and Buchanan before finishing with four games against East Bay Athletic League foes.

DLS vs Pitt

Every year I hear about Pitt....Pitt!

DLS is 11-0 vs Pitt

Didn't DLS put 70 on a 10 win Pitt a couple years ago.

Great song!

I'm telling ya. Pitt is will give Cen10 and DLS all they can handle this time around. They've got a ton returning and they managed to get a bunch of transfers. That said, I'm still not sure if (or how) these transferred kids can play. NCS says ya gotta sit for 5 games. I'm petty sure the 6-4 250 TE from San Ramon Valley didn't move to Pittsburg. Fulp transferred to DLS and has to sit 5 games. I guess we'll see.

Who’s that?😉 Dude, the three little piggies (aka the DLS defense with its 5 D1s) ain’t afraid of the BBB. The BBB had better keep his head on a swivel as he looks for that house to blow down.

5 D1s...I think MD has 6 in their backfield 🤣🤣🤣

MULTIPLE rankings among MULTIPLE DIFFERENT outlets say otherwise.

Are they ALL wrong?

Folsom by 10.

That doesnt mean a thing. Those are nothing but numbers on a piece of paper. Nothing has happened on the field to say Folsoms better than DLS.

And all Ive seen is CalPreps and what you just posted as far as rankings.

Nor Cal looks stacked.  I'd love to see an ECHS05 combined Top 20 between Ga and NorCal

Yes. They are not far from Pitt and have been the beneficiary of the talent that is in that area. If they had one school in that area, it would be unbelievable. Liberty has a QB named butterfield that is highly regarded. They’ll be good. @GloryDays can speak to them better than I.

There are so many high schools in East County now.  20 years ago it was Liberty, Antioch and Pitt (Deer Valley opened in '97?).  They added another two in Heritage and Freedom, totally watering down the talent pool.

Liberty will be good, Butterfield is a legacy kid.  Dad played at Stanford.  They've gotten a small handful of transfers, a new more aggressive head coach, and held their own as a young team last year.

Going by Davidson and the fact that I have deep respect for Blanton and I believe this is the first year the kids are all his program kids.

Gotcha. I like JoeD and his passion for the HS game. He promotes HS sports and this area like no other. But, he suffers from a bit too much recency bias IMO. Case in point making this claim about the upcoming Jesuit team w/o a single play of the season having been run yet.

With regard to Blanton, he’s been the HC at Jesuit since 2012. So he’s had all his guys for several years.

Not saying they won’t be good. Not saying they won’t end up being Jesuit’s best. But it’s beyond bold and reckless for JoeD to make that claim right now IMO.

Same logic applies to Folsom too. This could end up their most accomplished and best team ever depending upon how the season plays out. Even if they manage to pull off the upset against DLS, it would be premature to label them best Folsom team ever. If they stumble against Chaminade, Jesuit or some other team — they won’t be.

LOL the irony coming from someone OBSESSED with rankings, even going as far as to making up his own because not enough of his teams were in them.

LMFAO!

Where ever you're going to get your statistics, stop going there! ;)

DLS is 33-1 against Pitt. 14-1 in playoff games.

The reason you always hear about Pitt is because (1) they are the last non-Fresno area NorCal team to have beaten DLS and (2) they are usually among the most talent rich schools in the greater Bay area from year to year.

Right or wrong, that's why you hear about them.

Oh shit! Thorazine must have worn off finally.

I heard they put your little red wagon on square wheels last doctor visit you had. Something about Guys With The Butterfly Nets by 10 was the word we got over here.
