To be fair 14,000 schools may not have the resources that Gorman has.

That’s a good assessment. Only a couple dozen schools have the ability to travel on a yearly basis.

They have came a long way since losing to 3A Gilmer. This match-up would be a complete mis-match now.

That has been the goal for a long time at Gorman. The school has wanted to be a nationally recognized program. And not just in athletics.

I only brought that game up because GSB said no one from Texas had beaten Gorman and just wanted to drop that little nugget for him.

@Gardensateballer  I got a challenge for you Sir.  Clearly you have an agenda.  SInce you said 2008 is the modern era.  For what it's worth I will give you that.  For this misinformation that Texas doesn't play OOS is a grand falsehood.  The correct thing is Texas is not out seeking OOS lile a sailor on Shore Leave.  Plus Texas is a Public HS Dominated State.  I want you to show us Texans all the other States Pubilc powerhouses that played OOS Since 2008.  How about this.  i PUT IT IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER SO YOU CAN FOLLOW:  Each has a State Championship since 2008 and played an OOS Opponent since 2008.  They are a combined 30 - 11  vs OOS.  Please provide us the other States publics that can match this.  You will find that anyone of them that lost OOS was NOT good enough to win Texas.   Depth!  They Got beat in TEXAS AND NOT ONE STATE CHAMP Lost an OOS Game.  This is the BLue Bloods of Texas Minus NS who has no OOS games.

Abilene, Allen, Cedar Hill, Desoto, ET, Katy, LV, Lake Travis, Longview, SLC, Steele, Westlae

TheY beat the Following State Champs or Runner ups since 2008.  Again those that lost OOS Got smoked in State and not 1 won the SC.  Yet Many beat other State Champs or Runner ups from:  AL, CA, UT, WA, LA(3X), OK, AR(2X), SC, FL(2X)

I will await your proof of another STATE that played out of State this much with their Public State Champs that won as many and not one of them that Lost OOS and all failed to win their State.  You can cancel CALI.  Ask Sparty.  And I'm pretty sure one of the Jawja Big Boys lost OOS and Won State.  That would leave You Flrorida and I'm pretty confident you will find the same.  Tell me why TEXAS IS UNIQUE with this fact?

For the hell of it.  Duncanville and Skyline have been great during this time and they are 3 - 2 since then and yes they lost big to STA & IMG respectfully.   Go research and see how the Playoffs worked for them.

Any better for you, probably minus Carroll and Duncanville ?

Certainly Mater Dei and St. John Bosco are the modern day Texas public in this regard.

Their preseason ratings are absurd. Similar to the final rating of those schools back in 2004ish.

This has been addressed a bunch of times but you have continued to ignore the answers.

The Texas powers refuse to play OOS and the rare occasions that they do they're usually home games against over-matched teams.

On the other hand, for instance, one of those wins over a Florida state champion was 2A Chaminade traveling to play 5A Tyler Lee.

If Canadian had traveled to Florida to play, say, Edgewater then your silly little thought experiment would be moot.

It's already an irrelevant and misleading point for that very reason.

Again, send your defending 2A (or even 3A or 4A) state champion to Florida to play a down defending 6A state champion and your 2A (or 3A, 4A) team would never win.

So, for instance, send Gilmer to play Miramar in 2010.

Gilmer would not only never win but they'd be dismantled. Miramar almost beat DeSoto that year.

CM was ranked #7 in Fla that year (maxpreps site), they lost to #5 BTW 29-14.  That was a good win over one of the power states better teams

Maxpreps ranks those small schools incorrectly. Even in Texas they would have teams like Carthage in the state top 10 just because they won the 3A title and went 16-0.

And we already went over this years ago that in Texas, the only good teams are at the very top class. There was times where 5-5 teams from the old 5A were beating down state champions from the old 4A. There was about 10 instances where that occurred. The difference in classification in Texas is enormous.

Tyler Lee had 15 times the enrollment Chaminade did, and Chaminade would have been a small TAPPS teams if they were from Texas. Even if they were UIL, the enrollment would have had them 3-4 classes down from Lee.

Dutch Fork almost put 60 points on Allen.......Dutch Fork could only score 17 vs Hillcrest, 25 points on Spring Valley, and  27 points on Irmo.

I don't think I would brag about that game too much...

CM was ranked #7 in Fla that year (maxpreps site), they lost to #5 BTW 29-14.  That was a good win over one of the power states better teams

The point still stands. Send one your top non-6A programs to Florida to play the defending 6A state champion. It wouldn't go well.

Also, Chaminade beat nobody that year.
