Im saying Lufkin,Longview and Temple have been playing football since the early 1900's. Lufkin Dunbar won 3 titles before we had segregation. You ask any fan of HS football in Texas and these schools are well respected.

Being well respected in-state is totally different than being nationally-relevant, which this site is mostly all about.

The forum description says high school football related stuff. Nothing about having to have national success. Even if we play those cards Lufkin and Temple have both seen the top 150 since 2008 and have beaten top 150 teams since 2008. Your guidelines not mine.

Ouch

Evangel was alright that year, but took two losses here. sjr took some losses in nj too.

There really isn't any "national" to any of this bullshit. lmao

I feel the same way. Its fun to talk about but no real national playoff. Im comfortable saying MD,SJB and IMG look clearly better then everyone this year. But doesn't mean teams shouldn't enjoy their own success no matter what level or state.

Not that difficult.

you see no value in us or the claims we make, but spend countless hours trying to refute those claims. Sounds like you enjoy wasting your time on things you don’t value   😂

again, this must be peon level thinking.

It's not just that.......the same nj clown here saying over and over this team is "national" that team is "national". Blah, blah and blah.....that team can't be "national" for these reasons and those reasons/whatever, man.

It's all bullshit.

CE Byrd (Shreveport) is national as anyone. 😃

They aren’t even relevant in Louisiana. What are you talking about?

Maybe not, but if we ever need a win vs Longview, TX we will call CE Byrd.

Longview can't beat CE Byrd for some reason.

CE Byrd is 8-0 All Time vs Longview going back to 1913....last meeting 2015.

So it’s ok to post results from 1913-1961. But not 2002. Got it

Longview chopped down Louisiana state champ Neville in 2014

State Champs Evangel 3 times in 2002, 2004 and 2005

John Curtis in 2007

so that’s 5 Louisiana State champs put down by some random has been East Texas team who has only 1 state title in 80 years. I bet they wish they played in Louisiana. They would have at least 20 or so

Is there anyone out in West Texas that is competitive with the top teams in the state? Just curious.

No not really, the best is probably Midland Lee, somewhere in the top 25.  Permian is 2d best in that area. West Texas just not what it use to be

Longview TX is 24-16 all time against the entire state of Louisiana including chopping down at least 4 state champs.

And Longview has won 1 TX state title in over 80 years.

They have been pretty consistent. The 2018 title was huge. They played in 3 more but lost to Lake Travis twice and Katy once. Longview is usually a Top 10 team in Texas yearly any class. They have beaten Allen and DeSoto all in what GSB claims modern era. They're are the arch rival but they got a solid program.

West Texas and East Texas have felt the growth of metro-plex and GHA football at the big school level.
