2011  Abilene (TX) 49 Washington [Booker T.] (Tulsa, OK) 7

Booker was 4-6 and #50 in Oklahoma. WTF

50 Washington [Booker T.] (Tulsa, OK)   team preview Oklahoma 5A District 3 5A 4-6 4-2 (3rd) 4-5 23.5 24.6 70-40
WINS: #5022 Skiatook (OK) (17-7), #6320 Collinsville (OK) (21-0), #7453 Memorial (Tulsa, OK) (47-10), #11222 Hale [Nathan] (Tulsa, OK) (44-0), LOSSES: #170 Abilene (TX) (49-7), #631 McAlester (OK) (46-18), #1167 East Central (Tulsa, OK) (17-7), #1167 East Central (Tulsa, OK) (28-10), #1367 Albert [Carl] (Midwest City, OK) (24-3), #1578 Bishop Kelley (Tulsa, OK) (27-14)

All Glory Texas though!

West Monroe beat Booker T Washington, OK in 2017.......BTW finished #3 in Oklahoma and 12-1 that year..

That's a much better win...and doesn't look as goofy as (4-6) and #50 in Oklahoma.

3 Washington [Booker T.] (Tulsa, OK)   team preview   trend Oklahoma 6A-II District 2 6A-II 12-1 6-0 (1st) 10-0 53.8 30.1 80-67
WINS: #648 Bixby (OK) (28-21), #648 Bixby (OK) (21-0), #712 Midwest City (OK) (27-24), #912 Lawton (OK) (50-12), #1536 Putnam City (Oklahoma City, OK) (56-21), #2103 Edmond Santa Fe (Edmond, OK) (35-21), #2474 Muskogee (OK) (42-21), #3503 Page [Charles] (Sand Springs, OK) (40-0), #4627 Shawnee (OK) (63-0), #7341 Bartlesville (OK) (42-13), #7551 Sapulpa (OK) (63-0), #10086 Ponca City (OK) (63-21), LOSSES: #238 West Monroe (LA) (30-21)

Maxpreps ranks those small schools incorrectly. Even in Texas they would have teams like Carthage in the state top 10 just because they won the 3A title and went 16-0.

And we already went over this years ago that in Texas, the only good teams are at the very top class. There was times where 5-5 teams from the old 5A were beating down state champions from the old 4A. There was about 10 instances where that occurred. The difference in classification in Texas is enormous.

Tyler Lee had 15 times the enrollment Chaminade did, and Chaminade would have been a small TAPPS teams if they were from Texas. Even if they were UIL, the enrollment would have had them 3-4 classes down from Lee.

But that’s Texas.  We’re talking Fla. where class size is less of a factor.  I referenced CM loss to BTW for a reason, it wasn’t a blowout and there wasn’t much separation between BTW, Armwood and eventual state champ Nease

CM that year was a good team

2010 Abilene (TX) 35 Franklinton (LA) 20  (SC)

That was a pretty good Texas win......4A Franklinton was pretty good that year. They ended up #4 here and had tons of talent.

Franklinton had over 400 total yards in that game and lead going into the 4th quarter, but just flat ran out of steam in Texas. Had too many players going both ways.

4 Franklinton (LA)   team preview Louisiana 4A District 9 4A 14-1 4-0 (1st) 10-0 59.2 23.6 96-76
WINS: #253 Karr [Edna] (New Orleans, LA) (34-28), #731 Landry-Walker (New Orleans, LA) (36-6), #769 Haughton (LA) (49-41), #855 Salmen (Slidell, LA) (35-28), #1821 Leesville (LA) (55-14), #2816 Covington (LA) (58-21), #2994 Cox [Helen] (Harvey, LA) (67-20), #3925 East Jefferson (Metairie, LA) (48-14), #5696 Belle Chasse (LA) (55-13), #8116 Bogalusa (LA) (60-8), #8792 Riverdale (Jefferson, LA) (58-0), #8978 Walker (LA) (53-7), #11476 Varnado (Angie, LA) (60-6), #13098 Pearl River (LA) (48-6), LOSSES: #131 Abilene (TX) (35-20)

LT could have challenged any of the 5A teams in their 2007-2011 run. LT (old 4A) kicked Westlake's ass in 2009, who lost the state championship by a narrow margin to Euless Trinity

BTW, OK actually won the 6A-II State Championship that year in Oklahoma....not sure I knew that. Or, maybe I did and didn't care and forgot about it.

6A-II    champions: Washington [Booker T.] (Tulsa, OK)   [12/01 Washington [Booker T.] (Tulsa, OK) 28 Bixby (OK) 21]

U-High (Baton Rouge) was the best team in Louisiana in 2017.

Hillcrest almost put a running clock on Dutch Fork in the state championship game yet we got guys bragging about the best program in Texas beating them, at home, 58-53.

I don't get that too much.......I really don't, but when that guy gets started...well, you know.

I just wanna see LT and Katy play

They’ve played before recently.  Folks want LT and SLC, Katy and allen

for next year I’d like to see Duncanville at the corky kell.  They’re the only 6A team I think will be open to traveling

Also what happened to Westfield and Manvel?

Manvel is still Manvel...finding millions of ways to choke.  This was the team Ryan should have been facing in the 5A D1 finals.  But they (Manvel) found a way to lose (like normal)...this time to Cedar Park.

It also doesn't help them that Shadow Creek (The newish 6A school that beat Ryan in 5A-D1 title game 2 years ago) is getting some of Manvel's talent.

Horsefly, you're back!

I want to see LT play Katy in Katy.

LT would get to see Bass Pro, Katy Mills Mall, Katy Asian Town, Gary Joseph's RV World, the Brazos River, all the scenery in Brookshire and Sealy, where Clint Black started out, some of those nice suburbia homes, and all the numerous corporate hq's on I-10.

We want LT and Allen to face off again. Time to set the record straight and reinforce that asterisk* next to the 2017 game.

They’re still around, not on the level of years past.  Manvel was hit hard from new school opening (shadow creek).  Shadow creek Is now suffering from the same thing

I completely forgot another school was opening.  Alvin area gonna be the next Frisco if they keep growing at this rate.
