Caleb has entered the transfer portal…might return to Oklahoma but not good news for Venables or the Sooners.

That's just weird and a bad look for him at the next level. No loyalty at all even after being given the starting job. Gms have to think long term and he has shown even with the starting job he might leave. Imagine drafting him and the entire time he is planning on leaving for another team once his rookie contract is up.

I am not a big fan myself of the volume of transfers, but the only thing a rookie QB is trying to do in the NFL is:

(A) Survive                                                   (B) Listen to the staff and put in the Work C) Win games if they get a chance to play

He looked pretty good when first taking over the starting QB role.  However as video accumulated on the guy, teams were able to figure him out.  He was pretty ordinary looking against Oklahoma State.
SEC defenses would likely have eaten him up anyway.  If he wants to succeed, he should join the defense-less PAC12.

What a ridiculous comment 😂

How loyal is an NFL franchise going to be to him?

If he’s ballin and the team is winning under his rookie contract he’s not going anywhere if he shits the bed then they don’t want him anyway. So your point on the pro game is non existent.

You mean Georgia and Alabama(They were suspect against the pass too).

Should be a rule that u cant follow your coach if he was a hc and is becoming hc for your next transfer season. Too much room for corruption. Head Coach leaves U of X to go to U of Y. Lines up sweet NIL deal for top ex players , who follow leaving old school without their coach and top players.

At least pro leagues are protected by enforceable contracts.

Other Solutions? Stop offering scholarships to athletes. Let them pay with their NIL $ or put them in student loans that are forgiven if player stays 3 or 4 years.
