They would have to lose 3 games to drop out of the top 8 in the SS

Do you guys know how they are coming up with the top 8 teams? Its the wild card formula and a big factor in that formula is head to head victories. Well Cen10 is only playing 4 teams that are in D1/2 (MD, OLU, LB Poly, Norco). Almost any team in Trinity is gonna have as many H2H victories. So if Cen10 does struggle it's not a lock they are in the top 8.

The whole point of the 8 team playoff was to improve competitive equity by eliminating first round thrashings.  It does nothing though to improve competitive equity which will remain out of balance when looking at things by leagues.  Centennial, Norco, Ranch Cucamonga, Upland, possibly Vista Murrieta and one other team should be put into a league, at least for football.

They should but the different school districts would never agree to something like that sadly.

So if CC has 1 loss to MD how would they not be in the top 8 if they will their league and all other games?....

I agree with whoever said CC would have to be a 3 loss team AND not win their league for them to drop out of the top 8...

The system was designed so the “All Star” teams (MD, SJB,CC) and St. Mission Viejo will have to play each other for the Open birth...

Other then another powerhouse team or 2 emerging this bracket is 4 TL Teams, CC and MV plus Oaks and 1 other wildcard....

If teams schedule TL teams or the others I mentioned, then they will have a shot at unseating them in that bracket...

The way teams Schedule in So Cal going forward will tell you if they “Really” want the Open or not...🙂

The only way this is done is just make SJB and MD play in their own CIF division.

Korey Foreman (cen10) just won Opening finals DL MVP.   He’s a 2021 kid too.  Impressive.

Yep, he’s a good un.  Teams are just gonna run away from him, and they’ll have to roll left.

Since he’s just a junior, still plenty of time for MD to offer him for next year.  That is, unless of course Rollinson retires an they decide to play poach a coach with Cen10 at which point CIF would intervene and make them choose one over the other.  No wait, MD legal department has a solution for that.
