Are Texas HS Football best days behind them?

It is widely accepted that top to bottom Texas is the deepest state in HS football. But it has never been widely accepted that the top teams in Texas are the best in country.  Even before these collective  All Star teams have been assembled. You guy live off that one aberration of Trinity beating  DLS first game of season , or this season DV beating a 7-5 SJC.  You hide behind your teams beating each other, much like the Big 10, or SEC does often in college football, only to get exposed in the end when they go out an play other conferences in Bowl season.  Some years Texas has had some great teams, and some years they aren't so great. I think you need to acknowledge this a little more, since there is hardly any oos to  to go by.

I say yes or no to that.

I agree Texas is a deepest.

But I also agree that Texas wouldn't win the whole nation every year.

But it would damn sure be a game.

Texas is not hiding behind the ET or Katy.

It's just the only ones we can go by by proof.

Most Texas gurus no how good the teams are here and wish we had more out-of-state matchups to prove it.

On the other hand we expect some out-of-state Knuckleheads to know that bringing a top 5 national team here to play an unranked Texas team is BS. And that's the way it usually goes.

Duncanville is one of our better teams we expected them to beat St John Cadets.

Everyone else in country expected DV to win also, and convincingly. I also expected a tough game from ET to open up with DELA. After all, ET up to that point was a perennial power in Texas. The year before Dela, it took 3 time state champ Allen until last minute of game to beat ET.

We already proved it this year by one of our good teams beating a superstar team way worse  did all the other  top 10 ranked teams except MD

But looks like if Duncanville wins out it looks like they & MD will be the top two.

And you can use your vote anyway you like. It is a unproven fake poll.

You act like it's real.🙂

It was funny when the Washington St John Cadets were coming to play a Texas team some of you Knuckleheads were saying you couldn't wait for them to shut Texas up. Lmao

The best Texas win is against a 7-5 team? Congrats.

Let's be clear about this. When you are from a state with only one good recruited up team you live for out-of-state matchups.

Texas has many many good teams they don't have to do anything out of state if they don't want to.

If you notice these out-of-state Powers don't even try to come here until we get the best of the best and most certainly play a scrub.

If they play equal ranked team they get their ass kicked the way Duncanville did to SJ Washington Cadets.

National rankings are such a freaking joke.

Elite High School football is thriving, Texas is being left behind.

2015 Katy voted best Texas team ever.  OOS wins = zero.

Unanimous MNC = zero

Coincidence?  I think not.

The myth that Texas teams don't need to play OOS because their playoffs are so tough  is exactly that...a myth.

For Texas Top 8 teams, The first three rounds of the Texas playoffs are normally vs. roadkill opponents, which are normally rated  #200 + nationally.  Not a good look when we peel back the curtain.

Playing a Top OOS team either results in a Texas loss, or sucks so much focus, that the result is a stubbed toe loss in a subsequent week.  No stamina. Sad.

Texas HS football as has been losing prestige at a shocking rate over the past 5 years.  They hit rock bottom in 2017, with arguably no teams in the National Top 5, and in some polls, only 1 team in the Top 20.

The elite level (tier) has passed Texas by.  It is truly shocking considering that Texas as a whole, still plays the best HS football....but maybe not for long either, as Texas second tier teams have not fared well as conventional wisdom would hold vs. Calif and others second tier teams in recent years.

Texas elite's more than any other, state Top 3 need to hit the OOS road quickly or risk becoming HS football paper tigers.

Even sadder is that Texas fan is completely fine with conceding the National stage.  Actual quote - (500 times over) " I'd rather watch my team play Something Something Junction than any Top OOS team."

Yet, SJB and MD will go travel all over to play games that don’t prove nothing to Texans and they will take those games without return game most of the time. Then when team like Duncanville who is willing to play anyone - They make excuses to why they want play.  Instead DV will end up playing elite team from the east coast this coming 2020 season who willing to travel for less money.  It’s kinda ironic that it comes down to money when that has been the biggest reason Texas teams don’t travel across the country.  Where is all that private sponsor money?

watching MD play MV right now it’s kinda funny to watch MV try to play man coverage against these guys.

MD has not played team that is as complete on both sides of the ball as DV and that Includes SJB.

Its damn shame that MD and or SJB didn’t jump all over the opening that DV is willing to give to elite OOS team this next season.

National Mythical Polls are stupid and if Texas is fading as you say the stupid pollsters haven't gotten the message. The last 15 yrs and not ONE RECRUITED UP PRIVATE FOR TEXAS.  2 of the last 5 years a Texas Public School has been awarded a Title.  The same amount as Cali.

And since voting and opinion makes something a fact everyone of these silly polls have more Texas teams in the Top 25 than any other State.  So that would mean the playoffs are the toughest.  Just ask another silly national site like MAXPREPS.

see for yourself :  Looks like our Public's are equal to everyone else's Recruited Privates.   Look at the top 10.  But where are we being passed and by whom.  Even a 1 loss team from Texas is in the Top 10?

Katy at #2 is one of the most laughable rankings I've ever.

We also have the scoreboard on Longview now so we kn ow that their #19 ranking was ludicrous as well.

Only clowns like you would try to support your stance by using people's opinions.

Katy at #2 is one of the most laughable rankings I've ever.

We also have the scoreboard on Longview now so we kn ow that their #19 ranking was ludicrous as well.

Only clowns like you would try to support your stance by using people's opinions.

I have an opinion on you of whom I never acknowledge>

Where is Jesuit 🤣  Texas is falling so fast that 1/5th of Prepnation had Texas in it prior to the LV game?   A million damn HS in America and 5 of the top 25 are in a State that is falling and is a myth.  😂

Funny why does everyone need Texas to Travel if Texas is now falling.  Why the need to see Texas.  Texas don't share the same need for good reason.

See You Saturday.

They are but it shows  Tx have multiple Public's no one else does.  That's my point and in most silly polls Texas has 3 in the top 10 in all of them.  More than the other States with Recruited up Privates for the most part.

I guess playing oos didn't really help SJC after all.

They started the season ranked in the top 5 lol

They played 6 OOS games and got beat in 4 of them

After playing this incredible schedule they get beat in their final game.

I guess they might should rethink this type of schedule for next year.

I am glad they played DV - because I ended up watching a lot games in this league.

This will not be popular opinion and everyone will call me homer or whatever.

This league is poorly coached making the teams highly overrated.  I question how in the world  DBP could lose to Gonzaga?

The players in this league deserve better coaching and overall the QB play across this league horrid.

I honestly believe there is 16 teams in Texas or close to it that is better than these guys.
