I’ll be 60 next week. I’m from the Bronx and my high school is two blocks from Yankee Stadium. No football field but our classrooms faced buildings on 3 out of four sides. Bronx was burning. Sandlot leagues were where we played. And some serious rivalries!  My HS produced many NBA, college players in hoops.  We could walk down to old stadium after school during a day game and cops would let us into bleachers. Trains getting home were the gauntlet for everyone. Gangland, burnt out bldgs everywhere. Much better now.

60 on Thursday.  I always thought 60 was OLD!

was supposed to spend the weekend in Charleston, but some bitch named Florence had other plans.

A proud 71.....  so everyone remember...respect your elders.

For those who may remember the USA-Today forum in the early 2000, there was a group called the Elite 600.....we received several national write ups by USAT about the forum participation from all over the country.  This forum is not quite as large....but the opinions are just as strong.  Great way to keep up with the national perspective, from the 'locals' all over the country.  We may not agree on every pick, or think some on here make no sense sometime, but I respect what everyone has to say.  Let's keep it fun, and not get too serious.

I remember those days Prep...Then it all ended...Then there was Rivals...Then Dallas...And they ended too...Anyway, I'm not as old as you, B-U-T...My Oldest was born in November 1970, and my Youngest was born in November 1983...I'll just leave it there!!!

The 8 miles on the stationary is good.....I do 3-5 miles with sprints till failure about 3-4 times a week...Light weights, sit ups and slanted push-ups 3 times a week..._The older Your get the more we should move.......I weighed more in HS than now...

I used to do a little "slogging"...but then the plantar's hit me...and I had to back off.  I've been lifting since FOREVER.  I probably shouldn't be lifting the heavy weights (my internist was quite clear) but I love it.  As I've gotten older...I can see a drop in my general power.  I really don't know how long I'll keep the heavy lifts up.  When I'm asked by people at the Amelia "Y" why I lift the heavy weights...I tell them...

"if a tree limb falls on me; I wanna be able to get it off"
