Read from a coach that some of the TL teams want to opt out and not play Mater Dei and SJB anymore like OLU, JSerra but some teams like Servite and SM want to embrace the challenge. Which team would want to join this monster league?

LOL Trying to take the easy way out like the MIAA did in MD with SFA. Biggest pussy move ever. WIll taint CA hsfb forever if it happens. #workharder

Its not football anymore, it's just annual rituals of abuse getting pounded by Bosco then getting pounded by his friend Mater Dei hoping you don't see those two in the playoffs

Servite lost to SJB 56-0 in 2018. Each year since then they’ve been working harder and getting better as a program. That’s what the game of football teaches and is all about. Quitting should never be an option.

No other teams will step forward to join them. The once great state of CA is transitioning for the worst

It’s not that simple. No team can simply join the trinity league.

Allowing two teams to pack their rosters to the extent that nobody else has a chance, is bad for the state, so you are right there.

That’s BS. No merit to this at all.

No truth to this. Talked to OLu’s offensive line coach this morning, they’re not going anywhere. Jserra was literally founded to become a sports power and joined the trinity league when they had 100 kids enrolled. They’re going nowhere. Both schools are also baseball powers and benefit from the TL. Block being block. Has no trinity league connections and has no idea what he’s talking about.

NJ teams are prohibited from joining the TL, Sherlock.

Plus, NJ is not on that level anymore. Check out our recent scores vs the Big2 TL teams:

SJB: beat SPP 56-14, beat DBP 56-21

MD: beat BC 62-14

You know exactly what I meant smartass...Your publics vs your Privates.

What was the reason for the ban?

Here is a link. The rule is not specific to IMG although they clearly were the poster child for its enactment. The bottom line is that no California high school who is a member of the CIF can participate in any sanctioned game, in any sport, against a ‘high school’ team that is not a member of their own state’s association. It’s really too bad because MD, Bosco and IMG should be playing each other. Over the past 30 years there have been multiple hoops battles between MD and Oak Hill. Gary McKnight and Steve Smith are very good friends and Oak Hill came out yearly to MD to play in the Nike Extravaganza.
